During the year 2016-17 [from June'2016 to March'2017], the total 10683 no of pension cases finalized.
During the year 2016-17, the 5228 no of commutation of pension cases sanctioned.
The online connectivity for CPGRAMS has been activated in this department w.e.f. 21/06/2016. All the Public grievances received from Central Govt. is being examined under this department and thereafter forwarded to the concerned Administrative Departments of the State Govt. for appropriate redressal. The P & PG Department is now the State Nodal Department for monitoring of public grievances.
Govt. in the P & PG Deptt. has also taken a decision to issue GPF statement to all its subscriber through e-mode .
The process of submission of life certificates are now made convenient to the pensioners/ family pensioners by allowing them to submit life certificates to any branch of the bank through which his/her pension is being disbursed.
Now onwards the administrative departments can sanction arrear pension amount uptoRs. 1,00,000/- without the approval of pension sanctioning authority.
Govt. in P & PG Department has amended Rule 143 (i) & (ii) of Assam Services (Pension) Rule 1969 to include “Parents” under the definition of “Family” to receive family pension.
Special family pension is also allowed to come under the revised structure of Pay.
Disability pension and family pension benefits has been extended provisionally to the disabled /deceased govt servants serving under NPS in line with the GOI.
Finalised pension cases along with PPO's are now published in the news papers in every month for information to the pensioners.
At present, a total of 9 (nine) Nos. of Nationalised Banks are authorised for payment of pension to the Govt. pensioners.
Govt. in the P & PG Deptt. have enhanced of rate of interest on commutation of pension from the existing 4.75% to 8.00% in line with the Govt. of India.
